What are the containers for in Stranded Deep? ›

They can be opened and closed upon the doors of the container. So far, they don't contain any items or materials. It is possible to tear them down into panels and doors which can be moved or used as building material. You can also use them for shelters.

Equip an Axe

Before tearing a piece of the container, the player must make sure they have a Crude or Refined Axe equipped. It takes one Lashing, one Stick, and two Stone tools to craft a Crude Axe. Alternatively, a Refined Axe is created with one Crude Axe, one Leather, and one Stone Tool.

Up to three wooden boxes can be stacked on top of each other by building a container shelf. Not only does this maximize storage space, but shelf units can also be attached to wooden rafts allowing players to transport multiple items to different islands.

The Container Shelf is a storage unit in Stranded Deep. It can be placed on Rafts or it can be placed on Foundations and Walls. It is mostly used on rafts because it allows the player to transport large amounts of items across islands. Up to 3 Container crates can be placed on each shelf at once.

Renaming the Wood container will cause its name to appear in front of it. In the console versions, the crate cannot be destroyed and cannot be crafted.

To make an item pile in Stranded Deep, players using an Xbox controller must press grab hold of the item they want to make an item pile from, such as a rock or stick, and hold the RB button to open the quick-craft menu wheel. Players must have at least 2 of an item to make an item pile.

Make it your life goal to craft a Water Still. It works by using the sun's heat to evaporate the condensation from leaves and into a small flask. Not many survivors know this, but you can use Palm Fronds instead of Fibrous Leaves to fill it up.

The bigger the raft is, the harder it is to turn, and the slower it is to get moving. Also, multiple sails do not increase the speed of the raft in the water. So in order to build an optimal setup for a raft, players should think light and small.

Island. Small Islands are characterised by a variety of small foliage such as Ficus trees and Bushes. The starting Island is always a Small Island, prompting exploration to larger, more rewarding Islands.

The Refined Spear is the best weapon in the game; this weapon does a base 20 damage when thrust at your opponents, but the real fun comes when you land a throw. Throwing the Refined Spear can cause a whopping 40 damage per hit, and no other weapon does that in the game.

How do you attach a container to a raft in Stranded Deep? ›

Before cut down, the panel is called a container wall. Panels can be obtained by hitting a wall of a container repeatedly with a cutting tool. Once cut loose, right click the panel and drag it away from the container. Then the panel can be used in a building on top of a floor or foundation as the wall of a building.

The Clay Bottle is a consumable item in Stranded Deep. It is the only storage item in Stranded Deep that can hold 5 water servings.

There are shipwrecks stranded on the island aside from the Aircraft Carrier, and even raft resources such as the Barrels can be found on the island even though they are usually only found on shipwrecks. However the Aircraft Carrier itself has no other items than the three Gyrocopter Parts found near the Aircraft.

Air Tanks are necessary for when the player explores deeper depths; attempting to dive too deep for too long will result in less time to return to the surface to breathe before drowning. Once an Air Tank's three uses are exhausted, it cannot be refilled, but it can still be used for crafting a Speargun.

Players can use wooden planks to make a plank station, an essential piece of kit to turn palm tree logs, known in the game as trunks, into wooden planks. Making a plank station is something players might want to prioritize if they are keen to build better rafts, construct buildings, or create plots for farming.
