Susan Sarandon stars as DC villain Victoria Kord

Blue Beetle is a superhero movie produced by DC Studios and Entertainment One. The film exists within a new DC Universe created by James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Peter Safran (Shazam! Fury of the Gods), and is disconnected from the previous DCEU timeline. Puerto Rican Angel Manuel Soto (Charm City Kings) directs the film, with a screenplay from Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer (Miss Bala) based on the DC Comics character Jaime Reyes, aka Blue Beetle, and cinematography by Pawel Pogorzelski (Midsommar).

Blue Beetle was created by Charles Nicholas Wojtkoski and is played by American actor Xolo Mariduena (Cobra Kai) in the upcoming film. Bruna Marquezine is cast as Jaime’s love interest Penny, and Academy Award winner Susan Sarandon (Dead Man Walking) plays the film’s villain, Victoria Kord. The cast also includes actors Raoul Trujillo, George Lopez, Elpidia Carrillo, Adriana Barraza and Damian Alcazar.
